ABBY MATCHETTE, MSW, LICSW

MENTAL HEALTH | COUNSELING

Abby firmly believes that all individuals truly strive towards becoming the best version of themselves. Some individuals need the support of others in the process of either defining or redefining themselves, their goals, and their life pathway.

Abby is nonjudgmental and compassionate listener who strives to provide you with a safe, inclusive, and empowering therapeutic environment. If you find you are stuck in patterns you want to move on from, wanting to feel more close in your relationships, or if you experience mental health symptoms that are frustrating or confusing you, she looks forward to supporting you in identifying your goals and starting on your journey towards wellness and healing. Abby has over 18 years of experience working with people in a variety of settings currently in individual, couples, and family therapy. She is also trained to provide support to parents, caregivers, and families as they seek to gain greater understanding of their family system, how to make thoughtful decisions, and empower healthy autonomy.

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, mood variability, low self-esteem, problematic substance use, or overall struggling with healthy choices or difficult situations, Abby can support you in gaining increased awareness of your strengths, the meaning of your difficulties, and in accessing your ability to heal and grow. Whether you meet in her traditional office setting, go on a walk, or spend time outside, we utilize principles of safety, connection, and regulation to effect change in a safe environment.

Abby has training in known therapy approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Experiential and Adventure Therapy. She provides individual, couple, and family therapy, and works with all ages, with some specific training in working adolescents and young adult clients.

When she is not working, Abby enjoys being outside, gardening, x-country skiing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Abby believes it is important for both/all parties to feel comfortable working together and welcomes an opportunity to talk and discuss what you’re looking for and whether you can work together to achieve your goals. Please feel free to email Abby directly to connect and start your journey toward wellness.
